The  New Water Injection System

The BMW M4 GTS stands out as the first production road car in the world to feature a water injection system. This state of the art water injection system injects a small, precisely-measured spray of water into the intake manifold of the M4’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine. As it evaporates, the water extracts energy from its surroundings and lowers the temperature of the intake air by up to 80 degrees F. The process boosts gas mileage. It lowers emissions. It also improves both torque and power.

The water injection system isn’t as complex as it might initially sound. It is Stored in a compartment located under the trunk. The system is maintenance-free but the tank needs to be topped up occasionally.

Power

  • The Engine delivers a 493 horsepower
  • 442 pound-feet of torque from 4,000 to 5,500 rpm
  • Can reach 60 mph from a stop in 3.7 seconds
  • Top speed of 197 mph
  • Seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with three driver selectable shift modes
  • Ring time is equal to the Porsche Carrera GT

Interior and Exterior

for the BMW M4 GTS a lot has gone to achieve this success like ditching of the back seats. The front two have been replaced with carbon fibre buckets. Thinner doors are introduced. The kerb weight of the BMW M4 GTS now is 1,510kg, a 62kg drop on standard.

Exteriors are boiling hot with racing dynamics. The carbon front splitter and big rear spoiler are the highlights. BMW M4 GTS is not a typical copy of its M3. There are splashes of the colour all over, the wheels most notable. LED lights are used at the front as well as at the back. BMW particularly proud of the set at the back, which debut its ‘OLED’ tech, an organic version of LED lights.

But wait for the Hit. Just 700 BMW M4 GTS will be made during a one-year production run. Majority going to the US and some to UK. So even you catch one, there is one more Hick-up. It’s has a £121,770 price tag. Which is more than twice the price of a basic M4. Expensive but worth every penny. Stay tuned for more news..
