Lenovo recently launched two phones in its K-Series, the K4 Note and the K5 note. Both are in the same price range with little difference in specs. Here we pit the two smartphones the Lenovo K4 Note vs Lenovo K5 Note against each other comparing the power under their hood and the various features they flaunt.
Both the phones have a similar 5.5 inch 1080p (1080 x 1920 pixels) capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density of 401 pixel per inch. The Lenovo K5 note is a bit smaller than the Lenovo K4 note in dimensions and hence the screen feels almost bezel-less.
Under the Hood
Although there isn’t much difference between the displays of the two phones. K5 note packs a more powerful processor than its predecessor with a 1.8Ghz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 compared to K4’s 1.3Ghz octa-core MediaTek processor. The K5 also has a slightly better Mali GPU than in the Lenovo K4 Note. Lenovo K4 Note has a 3GB RAM while its successor the K5 note has only 2 GB. Although both would suffice for a normal end-user, for someone who likes to multitask a lot would definitely notice the difference. Both the phones come with 16 GB internal memory and support microSD expandable up to 128 GB.
13 MegaPixel camera is sported by the Lenovo K4 Note as well as the K5 however, the K5 does have a better front shooter of 8 MegaPixel than K4’s 5 MegaPixel. Both the phones support [email protected] frames per second video shooting, along with basic camera features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and, panorama.
K5 note with a 3500 mAh battery pack trumps the Lenovo K4 Note’s 3300 mAh. You would get about 34 hours of talk time with the K5 and 23 hours with the K4.
This is probably the defining difference between the Lenovo K4 Note and the K5 note. K5 note features an all metal body while the k4 note has a plastic body. People who prefer the metal design would probably opt for the K5 note.
Both Phones come with android v5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI on the top out of the box and will be upgraded to Marshmallow soon. Both smartphones feature a fingerprint scanner for device security and making payments.
The improvements are minute, but they are there. Although only Lenovo K4 Note is available right now in India at ₹11,999. The K5 note is available in China at approximately the same cost. The company has not yet revealed any plans to bring this phone to other countries.
