Recently, we saw the launch of Nexus 5x and 6p alongside Android M. And Google has started rolling out Android M aka Marshmallow to a handful of Nexus devices. In the interim, companies like Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG and Motorola are already planning to provide their users with the latest update ASAP. And here is a list of Android M supported devices from the various manufacturers that have already gotten or will be getting their update pretty soon:

Google

Google devices, as always, are the first to receive any Android updates. The OTA update of Android M has already started rolling out. And below is the list of Android M supported devices.

  • Nexus 7 tablet (2013)
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 5

Sony

Sony is little too slow in releasing the updates. Although, it has promised to release an update adding too many devices in the Android M supported devices list.

  • Xperia Z5
  • Xperia Z5 Compact
  • Xperia Z5 Premium
  • Xperia Z4 Tablet
  • Xperia Z3+
  • Xperia Z3
  • Xperia Z3 Compact
  • Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
  • Xperia Z2
  • Xperia Z2 Tablet
  • Xperia M5
  • Xperia M4 Aqua
  • Xperia C5 Ultra
  • Xperia C4

LG

Fairly few recent devices of LG will be on the Android M supported devices list. And the update will be available soon but not before the end of this year.

  • LG G3
  • LG G4
  • LG G Stylo
  • LG G Flex 2
  • LG G4c

LG has skipped the Android 5.1 update for LG G3 which has led to speculation that it will jump straight to Android M. And the rumoured LG G4 Pro may even launch with Android M depending on when it arrives, though if not that will likely receive the update quite quickly.

Samsung

The devices little older than Samsung Galaxy S5 are most likely to end up with Android Lollipop. So we can’t expect any more updates for the older devices. And therefore only these expected ones are on the Android M supported devices list.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  • Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Huawei and ASUS haven’t yet confirmed about releasing an Android M update anytime soon. This might take a while for them. Please feel free to comment if any of the devices has been left out.

Note: This post will undergo further changes as we receive any more info about the devices that will be receiving the update. And will eventually be added to the above Android M supported devices list.
