Lenovo rolls out marshmallow update for K4 Note in India

Lenovo just rolled out the Marshmallow 6.0 update for its K4 Note smartphone range on Wednesday. The improved OS gives way for new features and supports such as the Google Tap Now feature, including revamped app permissions. Another feature is the improved web experience in Chrome, by providing new ways to handle web links. The K4 Note is the world’s first in ‘TheaterMax’ technology which creates an immersive large screen experience boosting the phone’s graphical and surround sound experience, with a very responsive 3D.

Lenovo K4 Note is currently priced at Rs. 11,999 and offers a 5.5-inch full HD display and a 3,300mAh battery. The phone has a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Running on a 64-bit MediaTek octa-core processor having 3GB RAM, the phone provides smooth all-around performance. In terms of storage, the K4 has a 16GB internal memory, and can hold up to 128GB of data using a memory card.

The Lenovo K4 Note has been a rather large success, with Lenovo claiming sales of over 600,000 units of the K4 Vibe itself.  The company has sold around 150,000 units of its Ant Virtual Reality headsets as well. Marshmallow has officially integrated the Android Pay mobile payment system as well, including a new Silent feature for sound and vibrate mode. A new RAM manager, new app drawer, app restoration, auto backup, and adaptable storage devices are some of the new additions to the Marshmallow update. Lenovo has also made a battery saving feature called ‘Doze’ which will make Android devices smart about managing power.

Lenovo has so far rolled out the Android 6.0 update for the K3 Note, A7000, P1 and S1 devices. The Marshmallow update has drastically improved the speed and performance of the phone while solving the heating and hanging issues in its former devices. The main concern expressed by users of the K4 Note was the weak battery. Google has optimised the battery performance for the Marshmallow OS by enabling quicker charging on the K4 series.

The Android Marshmallow 6.0 update comes as a breath of fresh air. The significant changes and improvements have paved the way for a stronger, faster and more reliable Lenovo K4 Note.
