Motorola has launched the Moto 360 Sport in India for Rs.19,999. The Sport is a variant to the 2nd gen Moto 360 smartwatch launched earlier this year. The company has introduced a few changes to the smartwatch, keeping in mind the shortcomings of the earlier version.
It comes with a 1.37-inch LCD display with a 360×325 pixel resolution giving a pixel density of 263 ppi which offers a crisp visual experience. The screen is a Gorilla Glass 3 with an oleophobic coating, making it smudge-proof and scratch-proof. Unlike its predecessor, the smartwatch comes in only one size, 45mm dia. Sport has a more casual wear look than the Moto 360, thanks to the sweat-resistant silicone band. It’s a shame though that it is available in only one color, i.e. black.
The Sport is powered by a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz chipset, coupled with 512MB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. Although the 4GB internal storage might seem too much for a watch, but you’ll eventually find a way to fill it up. Motorola has shrunk the battery size from 320 to 300mAh.
Now talking about the major changes, Motorola has used its hybrid display technology, AnyLight display, which works as a normal LCD indoors and uses ambient light to illuminate the screen outdoors, making it perfectly visible even under direct sunlight. The Sport also has integrated GPS which means you do not have to carry your smartphone during tracking activities. The watch also houses sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor etc. It is IP67 water and dust resistant.
Moto 360 Sport works well with Google Fit, FitBit, Strava, MapMyRun and many more. You can also sync your Google Play Music playlists to listen to your songs. It is exclusively available at Flipkart. Would you buy it? Tell us in the comments.
