Microsoft today launched a new selfie-based feature phone. This phone, called the Nokia 230 Dual SIM, is Microsoft’s try at getting back into the feature phone segment.
Nokia 230 went on sale on Microsoft website last month but its official launch happened today for the Indian market for Rs. 3,949. Nokia 230 comes with 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display, 2MP camera on both sides, Series 30+ OS and dual SIM.
This feature phone also has 32GB expandable storage via microSD card slot. Coming to the connectivity, Nokia 230 supports 2G, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. The thickness of Nokia 230 measures 10.9mm thickness and weighs around 91.8grams.
This feature phone comes pre-installed with Opera Mini browser, Bing Search, and MSN Weather. This selfie-themed feature phone has a 1200mAh battery. The Nokia 230 Dual SIM comes in two colors, silver and dark silver.
Commenting on the launch, Ravi Kunwar, Director- North, Microsoft Mobile Devices, said, “Amidst the burgeoning market for touch-enabled smartphones, there was a latent need in the market for a premium quality, non-touch feature phone with enhanced features.” He also added, “This phone has been designed to deliver on that need in the market. The device offers a premium feature phone experience to users, both in terms of the build and design of the device, as well as the usage. We are confident that consumers will relate to the value that the device will add to their mobile phone experience.”
