Pete Lau hinted the OnePlus 3 to launch in June this year, this he revealed at the SURGE conference in Bangalore, India. OnePlus made all the headlines launching the OnePlus One just two years ago in June. The phone offered flagship Specifications at rock bottom price. OnePlus One was deemed a “Flagship Killer” owing to its superior performance than some of the flagships at that time offered at a much higher cost. OnePlus Two and OnePlus X also came out following the OnePlus One by offering high-end specs at minimal cost. OnePlus two targeted the flagships while the OnePlus X was aimed at the mid-Range smart phones. Although Oneplus X was just released in October previous year, it has invited rumors of the next iteration to the flagship killer series.
Carl Pei added that the OnePlus 3 would sport a whole new design. Rumors have it that the next iteration of the series will have a 5.5 inch Quad HD display which is hardly surprising, since every flagship has it this year. The phone could also be powered by a snapdragon 820 SoC. Rumors also reveal that it could come out in a 16GB storage, 3GB RAM and a 64 GB storage, 4GB RAM variant much like the OnePlus Two. The phone might have a 13 MP back shooter and a 5 MP selfie camera. There have been no real confirmations about the phone design however the phone is rumored to don a glass back, much like the OnePlus X. Although the rumored specs do reveal that the phone could just be a OnePlus two in a different shell, OnePlus might just go ahead and surprise us all.
Since the company does not launch any devices in tech conferences like the other tech giants. So for now we would be patiently waiting with our VR devices for the OnePlus 3 to Launch in June 2016.
