In what seems to be a crystal clear indication of an anticipated launch date for the Playstation VR, GameSpot’s CEO has finally spilled the beans on what will be a Q3 2016 ( September-October) launch for the most awaited Playstation VR headset.

Raines revealed that GameStop as a retailer is preparing for the launches of the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.

This is not coherent with what Sony had claimed last year when they announced that the PlayStation VR would be hitting the markets in the first half of 2016. PlayStation has still to react on Paul Raines’ statement and the hullabaloo is not going to die off soon.

This interesting piece of news (or rumor?) about the PlayStation VR launch in fall (sept-oct 2016) could also mean that Sony’s VR offering will intriguingly give the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive a headstart in the market as both of them are to be launched this spring. But clearly, this would also give time to Sony to learn from the shortcomings of both of the above and come out with a product which is better than its competition. Excited for Playstation’s VR offerring? We know we are!
