Amidst the trademark hustle bustle thousands of fans adorned in their orange Xiaomi t-shirts, Xiaomi today launched the Redmi Note 3 in India. The Redmi Note 3 (India version) runs on the brand new Snapdragon 650 SoC, and it is the first smartphone to sport this chipset. The Snapdragon 650 has a hexa core architecture (two 1.8Ghz ARM Cortex A72 + four 1.2Ghz ARM Cortex A53) coupled with a Adreno 510 GPU. It will be made available in two variants, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. It also has a new 16 megapixel camera with f2.0 aperture and phase detect autofocus (PDAF). Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4 ultrapixel front camera, and a massive 4050mAh battery. The Redmi Note 3 is also the first Xiaomi phone which features a fingerprint sensor and the first Redmi series phone to have a metal body. The phone runs on MIUI 7 on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Redmi Note 3 will be manufactured in India as part of the country’s “Make in India” initiative, so we believe there will be an ample amount of these phones in the Indian market soon.
The Redmi Note 3 will be available through Mi.com and Amazon, starting March 9 at 2 PM, and on Flipkart and Snapdeal at a later date. The phone will be available 3 colors, that are silver, gold, and gray.
