Xiaomi recently released its latest MIUI 8 ROM for public beta testing. The Chinese company’s latest OS based on Marshmallow is up for user testing for Xiaomi smartphone owners.
The MIUI 8 beta is currently available for the following models: Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 5, Mi Note, and Mi Max. Even though the software has undergone testing for a couple of weeks, there are still chances that there might be bugs. The Developer ROM is set to release on June 17, with support for all Redmi and Mi series smartphones. According to Xiaomi’s website, MIUI 8 comes with a brand new font, new animations, and a palette of new colours. Other interesting features include the ability to capture more than what is visible on the screen in a screenshot, the dual account system that provides users full control over their data, address book, and call history. The gallery app has had some improvements and additions to its photo editing capabilities. The MIUI 8 also comes with a built-in scanning feature that is capable of reading QR codes and business cards. Another addition is the power saving mode, which freezes background processes to increase one’s battery life.
