It has been over a year since Xiaomi came out with their flagship phoone Xiaomi Mi4. Mi4 was a great sellout in India and paved way to rumors of a new Xiaomi Mi5 which has kept the tech world abuzz with rumours for months now. Finally, it seems that Xiaomi is all set to launch the much awaited flagship, Xiaomi Mi5 in Q1 of 2016. This year has been the year of leaks, where most of the details of future phones have been leaked on the internet. Guess 2015 will end on a high note with us getting our hands on a video and some press renders ahead of the Xiaomi Mi5 launch, which clearly make the device seem top notch.
The press renders which have become public just now are coherent with the rumors that have been going about the Xiaomi Mi5. The Xiaomi Mi5 seems to come with a curved display which seems to curve a little on both sides of the device. There is also a physical button for the home button (like the One Plus 2) which is a new addition to the Xiaomi Mi Range as none of the predecessors to the Xiaomi Mi5 had a physical home button. If rumors are to be believed, me button will have a top grade fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi seems to have expanded the color range of the Xiaomi Mi5 to 3 main colors, black, pink (Rose gold?) and white. The press renders exposed the Pink and Black variants where as the hands on video had the White Xiaomi Mi5.

Specifications (According to rumors)
Over the past year there have been constant rumors and leaks about the Xiaomi Mi5 and we ave added them all up here to see what the device could look like!
Xiaomi Mi5 will most probably boast a 5.2inch QHD display, the massively powerful and best in the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, the Adreno 530 GPU along with 4GB RAM (Most likely DDR4). The device is expected to be released in 3 main variants : 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Coming to the Camera, which has always been a plus point in Xiaomi devices, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to hold a 20MP rear camera and a 8MP front snapper. The device is expected to come packed with a massively loaded 3800 mAh LiPo battery and of course a NFC chip.
On the software side of things, it was expected that the phone will be launched with the newest OS from Xiaomi, the MIUI 7 on Android 5.0, Lollipop but in the recent events of Xiaomi announcing that MIUI 7 will get updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Mi3 and Mi4, there is no reason to believe that the Xiaomi Mi5 wouldn’t too have MIUI 7 on Marshmallow.
The leaks w.r.t to the price of Xiaomi Mi5 have thus far been inconsistent but a safe guess would keep the phone at a price of USD $599, which is about Rs 40,000. Xiaomi has earned a name in the mobile market in such a short time by providing premium specs devices for quite an inexpensive price, so there could be a surprise when they announce the device, but for now all we can do is wait and watch.
