Sigma recently announced two new additions to its high-performance APS-C format lenses; the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art and the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens. While the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 lens will ship for $1,099 or Rs.73,000, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Contemporary Lens can be purchased for $339 or Rs.23,000.

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens

The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens comprises of three FLD or F Low Dispersion glass elements and one high refractive index, high dispersion glass element to minimize aberrations. It is the first constant-aperture f/1. telephoto zoom lens. The lens comes with a highly durable polycarbonate diaphragm made with fluorine while the blades feature carbon feather trim which ensures smooth operation during continuous shooting. The lens boasts a new Hyper Sonic motor which is 30% slimmer and provides fast and accurate autofocus. The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens weighs about 1.4kgs, which is rather heavy. It also features a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 75-150mm.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens comprises of one aspherical element and one double-sided aspherical element. It has a maximum aperture of f/1.4 to offer. It weighs around 9.3 ounces and includes 9 elements in 7 groups, with a 52mm filter thread and a minimum focus distance of 11.8 inches. It is available with the Sony E-Mount and Micro Four Thirds Mount.
